City Pound

We operate the pound on behalf of the City. Any stray animals that are brought to our Shelter we legally hold for a 72 hour period, as per the Saskatchewan Animal Protection Act. However, we hold animals for 5 days to allow time for owners to track their animals to our shelter.

Please check our Lost/Found Animal Page here on our website if you are looking for your lost cat or dog

In order to claim your pet from the pound all fees need to be paid by cash or debit/credit. These fees include impoundment offence fees, boarding costs, vaccinations if required, and licensing if required. Please note that we do not accept cheques for pound fees.

As well any City of Prince Albert resident must provide proof that their pet is licensed.. If your pet requires a City license, you may purchase one through the Shelter when you come to claim your pet.

Note: To reclaim your pet, you may be required to provide ID and proof of ownership (e.g. city license, recent vet bill, etc)

The City Pound fees as set by the City are as follows:

First Offence: $60.00
Boarding fees (including the day the animal was brought in): $23.50 per day plus tax.
Licensing: $25.00 (fixed) $75.00 (not fixed)
