2020 presented many obstacles and difficulties, but because of your help we were able to save, re-home and reunite over 1300 animals. We had several successful fundraisers, adding fun into our community throughout the year, while making enough to continue on our mission of saving animals. We also continued to operate day to day with our core values, and have been working towards ensuring every decision we make is guided by these values.
I would like to say a special thank you to everyone who has continued to help us grow and better our organisation over this previous year, and looking into this new upcoming year. We would not be able to do this without you, all of your encouragement, support and cooperation is recognised and greatly valued.
In 2021, we hope to continue down the road of repairing, building, and maintaining strong relationships throughout not just our city, but our province and our country. In line with our values, and our goal to serve our city and our animals in the best way possible, we have continued to strengthen our services and continue to find ways to improve our programs.
In terms of 2021 fundraising, we have many exciting avenues to explore, and I hope that you will stay tuned to our Facebook page for upcoming events. With following Public Health Protocols, we will we looking into new approaches with virtual and online fundraisers and hopefully soon be able to once again host our in-person events right here at the SPCA as well as out in our community.
We are excited to announce that we have taken a big step forward into this new year, and will be taking in and finding forever homes for animals of the exotic kind. Their lives are just an important of those of cats and dog, and we are excited to extend our services to accommodate them as well. Exotics will include small animals such as rodents, reptiles, domestic birds and fish. These pets are often the most common mistreated pets, and we are happy to take the stand and ensure even the smallest of pets, is given the opportunity to a better life.
To those of you who know us well, thank you for everything you do to keep us going. For those of you who have yet to make our acquaintance, I look forwards to any and all opportunities in the coming year to meet you, and show you why we’re a great organisation to become a part of.
Here’s to 2021, let’s make it another great one!
